How would you do Church in a post-Christian culture for people who “don’t like church”?

I love baptisms, and the new life that follows. It's all about hope!

I also love it when I can baptise in a warm spa bath, and when we baptise in community so everyone shares the joy and the responsibility for looking after the
new believer.

They don't care much about what we say,
just a lot of talk, but they'll respect faith in action.

How would you explain Jesus, or the Gospel, to someone with ZERO Bible Knowledge and no church background?

Through new & existing networks, we

help plant new churches & encourage existing ones
• multiply disciples in local churches & mentor leaders
provide a relevant reflection of Jesus on a university campus
provide refuge for women at risk & help refugees begin again

. . . gaining a hearing for the Gospel in a culture that is
non-religious.

So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me. Col. 1:28-29 NLT

There are many exciting projects in the works. If you would like to get involved in one of these ministries, or if you are interested in helping fund the work of Jill Shaw with SPCF and the ministries you have read about, please click on DONATE above and to the right or send a check to

Your donation will ease the pressure a strong NZ currency is making on the budget. Rent is up 26% across Auckland and food prices are soaring. Petrol is at highest prices ever and the US dollar is down in value, making my previous support less than expected.
I'll have furlough costs this year and must start thinking of a newer car. Partner with us?

Radiating Influence – Networks

I saw a Numb3rs episode recently in which a man’s movements were charted by the GPS coordinates he’d entered. Those points were illustrated like cracks in a sheet of ice when it is penetrated.

I saw the cracks radiating out, jagged and irregular, sometimes meeting up with other cracks and forming a network of sorts.
I saw something of my ministry in that.
I have discipled people, connected with those who watch Shore on TV, had intense conversations with some who chose not to make Jesus Lord, sent others off to Bible college or specialised training, connected friends with friends for mutual benefit and greater
influence . . . . all of these influences I’ve had over the past 11 years here are beginning to bear fruit we can see. Some trees take a while to fruit! We’ve got young people serving in various churches and ministries. New church plants are happening in West Auckland, Dunedin, C hristchurch and elsewhere. God is at work and we get to be part of it.

rechurch is an SPCF church plant in Christchurch in New Zealand's South Island. With a capable team of three couples and over 30 local believers and seekers, rechurch is a viable faith community that will attract those who might not walk into a conventional church building. Pray for God to be at work in and amongst the people who come in to contact with the team in Christchurch.

Journey
is a similar start up in Dunedin and is served by Bryce & Lydia Wiley and Tony & Kelsey Collins. Something epic, refreshing and real is happening down there. Find Journey on Facebook.
